About
Allan Scott is a name associated with wine in Marlborough, Australia. It is one of the first independent wineries established in 1990. Allan has been devoted to the wine business almost 40 years, making him the most experienced winemaker in Marlborough when it comes to growing grapes, producing and marketing high quality wine. It all started when in 1975 Allan and his wife Cathreine bought a land and got into contract growing. This is where they started their own business and became a part of the new era in New Zealand’s wine industry.
In 1990 they launched Allan Scott Wines and have since evolved a lot.
The biggest change was the evolution into a family business. Catherine’s and Allan’s three kids have become indispensable and valuable members of the family wine business. Victoria, the older daughter of Allan and Catherine is responsible for Marketing, son Josh is the Chief winemaker and is responsible for the variety of the wines, while the youngest daughter Sara, also qualified as a winemaker, mainly works in the vineyard. Because of their true devotion, nowadays Allan Scoot wines are one of the most popular and the Allan Scott Estate is a destination and an experience, for both New Zealanders and overseas visitors.
