About
KitchenAid is one of the leaders in the kitchen appliance industry, with presence on the market for nearly 100 years. Herbert Johnson invented the first electric mixer in 1908 (for Hobart Manufacturing Company, which is the first name of KitchenAid), but KitchenAid became a serious competitor with the introduction of the iconic stand mixer H-5 in 1919. This American company has built its world-wide reputation thanks to the many innovations and improvements. In 1920s, there was an on-going trend for smaller appliances, so the production of H-5 was stopped. However, KitchenAid responded to this challenge with production of lighter and smaller mixers, and started extending its range of mixers, which included less expensive models as well.
In 1930s, Ergmont Arens helped KitchenAid to design three simple, functional and extraordinary stand mixer models, which are popular around the world to this day. In the following years, KitchenAid followed all trends that emerged on the market by implementing incredible innovations. For example, aside from mixers, the company included a dishwasher in its product range in the early 1950s. During the 50s, KitchenAid introduced new machines with unique colors: sunny yellow, red, dark brown, island green, sky blue, white, petal pink, orange, satin chrome, black and etc. These electrical appliances were different by appearance than all other kitchen big and small appliances. The history of KitchenAid is full of innovations, so the company’s range today includes a variety of products.
