Bodum is one of the most recognizable brands for table and kitchenware products. Founded in 1944 by Peter Bodum in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Danish company has spread internationally by 1960s. The secret behind this huge success was brand’s philosophy: designing and manufacturing affordable, quality and functional products.

Ever since the first year the company was established, Bodum features a wide range of simple, quality and functional table service products in its portfolio, striving to make high-quality products available to everyone across the world. One of the first huge successes of Bodum, was the innovative vacuum coffee maker Santos. Santos was acclaimed for its incredible design all over the world and by the 1970s, it became the most popular coffee maker in the world.

In 1974, the son of Peter Bodum, Jorgen, took over the company with a strong will and commitment to respect Bodum’s traditions and continue with creative work, applying his new ideas. In his first year as Bodum’s director, Jorgen has launched the Bodum’s first coffee press Bistro, which was internationally awarded. Over the following years, Bodum opened a lot of stores and shops-in-shops in some major cities over the world. Today, Bodum products are available in about 55 countries, with 20 Bodum stores and a plenty of shop-in-shops.

Products

Bodum has been constantly working on expanding its collection of simple, beautiful and functional everyday life products. Today, the company offers a variety of Bodum appliances, utensils and table service. Coffee makers, tea pots, coffee presses, kettles, cookware, silverware, coffee glasses, drink glasses, tea glasses, kitchen utensils, blenders, juicers, mixers, toasters and many others. In other words, Bodum covers all kitchen needs and all aspects of table service.

In addition to designing and manufacturing quality products, Bodum has a retail store network spread all over the world. Also, Bodum appliances and other products are sold through third-party retailers.

Coffee – Bodum is mostly recognized for its reliable products for preparing coffee. The company has designed some of the world’s most awarded coffee presses and coffee makers. In its range of coffee products, Bodum has mugs, cups, glasses, milk frothers, water kettles, thermos flasks, coffee grinders, travel mugs, travel presses and other accessories. One of the newest Bodum products is the Bodum Pour Over coffee maker. This coffee maker is designed to both look cool and make any cup of coffee the best one. The process of preparing coffee is made easy with this efficient device. Simple, but ubiquitous, Bodum Pour Over is a stand out.

Tea – Ever since the British Tea Council asked Bodum to develop a new way of preparing tea, the company designs the best tea pots in the world. Besides tea pots, Bodum also designs special tea mugs, cups and glasses, water kettles, travel tea mugs and other tea accessories. ASSAM tea pot is the most popular. It has a unique working principle and tea press system, which allows the tea as much time and space as needed to develop a rich flavour. The ASSAM tea pot is made from high-quality borosilicate glass, which is known for durability and ability to keep the tea hot for a longer time.

Kitchen – In addition to producing some of the world’s finest coffee makers, coffee presses and tea pots, Bodum is also known for its various cookware products, grinders, cutlery, storage jars and many other kitchen accessories. Salad bowls, serving spoons, pizza wheels, pancake turners, sauce pots, napkin holders, peelers, baking sets, various knifes and what not, Bodum has it all.

Electrical Appliances – When it comes to Bodum appliances, the company designs some of the best-looking kitchen electrical appliances. In addition to the coffee and tea makers, coffee grinders and electrical water kettles, Bodum designs and produces some quality hand mixers, blenders, stand mixers, juicers and toasters. Interesting Facts

Bodum was established in Copenhagen, Denmark, but it was moved to Lucerne, Switzerland with all its headquarters and manufacturing facilities.
In 1991, Bodum bought the rights of two companies: Martin S.A. – the producer of the first press coffee maker and Nissen – a wood factory that has improved the Bodum wooden products.
