BOMAG is the leading compaction equipment company founded in 1957 by Karl Heinz Schwamborn in Boppard. The same year the company was found, Heinz came with an innovative design for a model of the double vibratory roller with all drum drive. This device was released for sale in 1962 and since BOMAG began to grow. The original site soon became non-adequate and in 1969, the company was forced to move to the Hellerwald industrial estate in the district of Buchholz, where is still located. Seven years later, BOMAG was upgraded with a research center. In 1986, additional 10,000 m² were added to the original facility for assembly, testing and painting heavy machinery. In 2005, the French corporate group, Fayat Group, acquired the BOMAG’s rights and since the company sells asphalt pacers and cold planers under BOMAG label. Today, the German company is represented by over 500 dealers in over 120 countries all around the world with total of about 2,200 employees. BOMAG has 6 regional offices in Germany and other branch offices in France, China, USA, Canada, Japan, Italy and Hungary.

Products

BOMAG products are divided into 20 product groups and find use in many areas, from gardening to transportation infrastructures and heavy construction. Almost all BOMAG’s products are available on the official website, from tamper to roller compactor. BOMAG is the world leader in documentation, measurement and control of compaction work during compression process and afterward. However, the main product groups are light compaction equipment, asphalt products, soil compaction products, cold milling, recycling and stabilization and sanitary landfill management.

Light Compaction Equipment – This product group includes light compaction equipment, such as tampers, reversible vibratory plates, single direction vibratory plates, walk behind rollers and tandem ride on rollers. All light equipment find use in many branches of the industry and professional environments.

Asphalt Products – Since Fayat Group acquired the rights of BOMAG in 2005, the company sells various asphalt products, such as tandem vibratory rollers, pneumatic rollers, intelligent compaction, paving equipment and material transfer vehicles. These quality asphalt products find their use in the compaction of various driveways, walkways, cart paths, parking lots and road rehabilitation and patching.

Soil Compaction Products – BOMAG has the most popular and most sold soil compaction products: single drum vibratory plates and soil compactors. These machines are used in site preparations, trench compactions and in soil compaction in road construction.

Cold Milling, Recycling And Stabilization – As cold milling is not a very familiar term, it is a controlled removal of an asphalt or concrete surface. Milling machines are usually self-propelled and big enough to provide a traction and stability to remove the pavement surface. Stabilizers/recyclers on the other hand, are useful in road construction, in-place asphalt recycling and construction site material stabilization.

Sanitary Landfill Management – Sanitary landfill is a site where waste is isolated from the environment until it is safe. To successfully manage this kind of issue, BOMAG offers the best refuse compactors that can deal with it.
