About
Dynapac was found in 1934 in Stockholm, Sweden under the name AB Vibro-Betong and is a multinational engineering subsidiary company. It is part of the Atlas Copco Group, the leader of providing industrial productivity solutions. Two years after its establishment, Dynapac presented a vibratory compactor developed by mechanical engineer Hilding Svenson. In 1947, Dynapac launched the first vibratory plate compactor and six years later the first vibrator roller. These were the first steps toward becoming a world leader for mobile compactors. As the company grew, few more production plants were established around the world, in Brazil, China, USA and India. In 1973, the company changed its name in Dynapac and quickly expanded its product range. Although the main products were vibratory road rollers, Dynapac worked on expanding its product range and soon launched the first paver in 1980. Dynapac has a couple of acquisitions: the road roller manufacturer Watanabe of Japan, Vibratechniques of France, Salco of Sweden and the asphalt paver manufacturer Demag Schrader of Germany. Before becoming part of Atlas Copco Group in 2007, Dynapac was owned by Skanska Cement AB until 1991.
