Fiat is a prominent name in the automobile industry. Founded in 1899 by Giovanni Agnelli and other investors, the company has produced thousands of automobiles over its century-long history. Giovani Agnelli and his successors are famous for making the brand of Fiat what it is today. A major change in organization was conducted by Agnelli in the 60’s as power became more decentralized in the company allowing top management to focus on more important goals. Aside from producing automobiles, at some point of it’s history, Fiat produced military vehicles, railway carriages, farm tractors and aircraft. By the end of 2011, Fiat’s large production was acknowledged with an award – fourth largest European and eleventh world auto manufacturer by production, right behind the Volkswagen Group and Renault. The Fiat family includes several other brand followers like Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Chrysler. This brand has production facilities all over the world, of which the biggest are in Brazil and Argentina. By 2010, some major ownership changes occurred as shareholders divided Fiat’s major businesses. And by 2011 Fiat got listed on the stock market. In the period of 2010 to 2013, company’s debt has risen so much that their credit rating is at the very low.

Hatchback

The Fiat 500 is the only representative mini car as part of the hatchback family. The practical and simple design of this model makes it perfect for city traffic and hard-to-reach parking spots. The model is offered in 12 different colors. There is also the convertible version of the car for young men and women who like to show off. Fiat 500 is not new to the market as the first model under this name was presented 50 years ago. A hot hatch version was released named as the Fiat 500 L. Other models of hatchback include the popular Fiat Panda, Fiat Bravo and Fiat Punto. Talk about famous, Fiat Punto is one of the company’s most sold cars in Europe. In this category Fiat offers models such as Sedici, Panda 4×4 and Freemont. These are family off-roaders designed to sustain long trips and greater number of passengers without any problems. Freemont is a crossover SUV rather than a classic Panda 4×4 SUV and is more popular in families living in the suburbs. All these models are differently priced depending on the additional equipment included.

Minivans

If SUVs are good family vehicles, these so called ”station wagons” are perfect for your family garage. This category includes following models: Doblo, Qubo, Idea and the Panda classic. These cars are great replacement for vans and minibuses as their capacity can reach up to eight passengers. These models are smaller than SUVs but taller than station wagons. They have large trunks so that all of your luggage can be placed without any problems.. As for most Fiat models, price is set for middle class families and low-profile customers.
