About

The story of Independent Trucks Company cannot be told without first saying that this company is one of the largest skateboard trucks manufacturers. Based in Santa Cruz, California, Independent Trucks Company was established in 1978 by NHS, Inc. ,a skateboard distribution company. Independent was co-founded by Richard Novak, Fausto Vitello, Jay Shiurman and Eric Swenson and until now, this company has one of the most popular skate trucks in the whole world.

Products

Offering a wide range of skateboard trucks, all types of Independent trucks are designed to meet the different skaters’ needs. All of them are manufactured with high-quality aircraft grade T6 aluminium alloy, high-tensile SAE 4130 Chromoly alloy steel axles and high rebound formula stock bearings. Trucks

Also known as ‘Indy’, the original Stage 1 model of trucks was designed and released on May 23, 1978, in Newark, California. This truck, in fact, was designed as a response to the lack of quality skateboard trucks on the market. Over the years, Independent has released different variations to the classic design, so it could meet each and every customer’s need.

Independent Trucks come in three different heights: standard profile 55mm (the gap between the axle and deck), mid profiles 53.5mm and low profiles 48.5mm. Of course, there are variations to these models, so before setting your eyes on a particular model, make sure to check its height. This is essential if you want the trucks to meet your wheel diameter dimensions.

As a general rule, you should choose higher trucks for bigger wheels and looser trucks. Professional skaters say that you can also customise the distance between the deck and axle with the help of riser pads. When it comes to choosing the right trucks for you, there isn’t any general rule that you should follow. You should choose whatever works best for you. The only thing you should have in mind is matching the axle width as close to your deck width as possible. Hardware

Also known as mounting hardware, the skateboard hardware is used to connect the skateboard deck and trucks. Generally speaking, each truck needs four bolts and locknuts, and you can buy them individually or in sets. Risers, bearings, cushions, screws, grip tape and curb wax are some of the things this store can provide you with.
