In 1970, a new and unfamiliar face showed up on the fashion stage in Paris. It was Kenzo Takada, a Japanese fashion student who left his hometown Himeji in1864 to live in Paris and pursue his dream. His unique and original style was proven once again when in 1978 he held shows in circus tents with models dressed in theme related clothes. After establishing a name worth notice in the fashion world led by successful collections of men and women clothing lines, the house of Kenzo entered the market of perfumes 1987. The first Kenzo fragrance, “Ca Sent Beau” was launched in 1988 and enjoyed immediate success. After 30 years of great achievements, Takada left the company as artistic director to be replaced by Odile Lobadowsky who became CEO of Kenzo perfumes the following year. Another significant fragrance that was presented in 2000 was the Flower by Kenzo. This perfume just confirmed what Kenzo stands for, through the use of elements from nature, poetry and mixture of different cultures.
