Koorong is a family-owned Christian bookstore chain operating across Australia. Established about 35 years ago in Marsfield, Sydney, Koorong has become one of the largest retailers of Christian books and other media in Australia. The first store of Koorong was the garage of the Bootes family on the Koorong Street, where Bruce Bootes, a retired veterinarian and pastor lived along with his wife Olive. Their son was the founder of Koorong, as in 1978, he decided to manage the family business. The early success of Koorong has allowed Bruce to move his Sydney-based store in a larger, Sydney-superstore in West Parade, West Ryde in 1995.

Today, Koorong does not only have 15 stores across Australia, but it operates online for users’ ease of convenience. Koorong has stores in Melbourne, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Hobart, Fyshwick, Toowoomba, Launceston and its newest, Springwood-based store, which was opened in 2008. The goal of Australia’s favourite Christian bookstore has always been to spread the God’s Word through a wide selection of Christian books, DVDs, Bibles, eBooks, gifts and many more at prices affordable for all. The team of Koorong are more than happy to provide the believers with quality Christian resources that provide guidance and encouragement to the Church, as well as proper introduction to people who are just about to meet Jesus.
