About

The famous sparkling champagne of Moet & Chandon (originally known as Moet et Cie) was created in Paris, France in 1743 by wine trader Claude Moet. The company officially started its operations in 1750 and quickly gained notice among aristocrats and the Royal Court. This enabled company’s fast growth and soon Moet expanded his business by opening locations in wealthy countries at that time such as Germany, British America and Spain. A turning point in company’s history and successful business fairytale was when Moet bought the famous vineyards where Benedictine monk Dom Perignon used double-fermentation for perfecting the taste of his champagne. Another significant milestone in the Moet’s history is the collaboration with Napoleon I, which created today’s luxurious image of Moet & Chandon. Company had a tough period in 20th century when nearly all vineyards were destroyed and abandoned and it was Count Robert-Jean de Vogue that transformed the family business into a corporation that it is presently. Today, Moet & Chandon is a symbol for all celebrations, small or big, special days and anniversaries and individual and team success. It is popular not only among rich and privileged, celebrities and public figures but also among common people. People of different ranks are buying Moet & Chandon as wine gifts or for own wine collection. The unique and sparkling taste is what makes Moet champagnes so good and unique.
