Philips is a multinational corporation that produces a large number of engineering and electronic products. It was founded in 1891 and successfully managed by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik Philips in Eindhoven. Since Philips has survived many ups and downs and is today recognized as one of the best and largest electronics companies in the world with an employee base of amazing 122,000 professionals and international exposure in over 60 countries. Philips is organized in three major divisions which operate as single units in different markets throughout the world: Philips Consumer Lifestyle, Philips Healthcare and Philips Lightning. It was Philips Lightning division that has had the most success as it was named the largest manufacturer of lightning products for 2013. Philips used the knowledge and expertise in lightning products to develop new and innovative products like the Philips Cpap machine and other Philips Respironics products. With large revenue from these products Philips invested in new business ideas, some of which are still recognizable brands in their own respective industry.

Products

Philips Lightning – Philips was initially a company that developed lightning products. As such, it has achieved great success and has given unselfish efforts in innovation of how we use lightning systems in our houses, workplaces and public areas. Products range from simple lightning bulbs to new LED, OLED, luminous lights, lights for cars and many other products from this category.

Philips Healthcare – In 2001, Philips moved the headquarters in Amsterdam and changed in structure with the release of new product departments, one of which was Philips Healthcare. In this department Philips has also managed to surprise critics and produce some of the finest healthcare products and devices that can be seen in any modern hospital. These products are used in various segments of health institutions and range from simple Philips CPAP machines to all kinds of machines for respiratory care, resuscitation, ultrasound, X-ray services, diagnosis and computed tomography.

Philips Consumer Lifestyle – This more popular segment of Philips’ product assortment is made to suit the wider market audience in equipping their homes with all kinds of electronic devices and gadgets. The variety of products that this department offers is so big that it is divided into several major categories such as Sound and Vision, Personal Care, Mother and Child Care, Household products, PC products, phones and accessories. All categories include many products with different purposes.
