WTB

WTBAbout

WTB is a company founded in Marin Country, California in 1982 that’s dedicated to creating reliable and durable mountain bike-specific equipment. Back when WTB was founded, mountain biking was a relatively new and burgeoning sport and the original WTB crew was amazed by the experience of riding bikes on such trails. However, regular bikes couldn’t stand up to the harsh riding environments, so the crew started building their own high-end components, basically turning their passion into a successful business that still flourishes more than 40 years later.

Today, WTB is a global brand that supplies innovating components, parts, and accessories for trail riding, recreation, transportation and elite racing across the world. The small garage is now a real office, and the components they make have evolved to meet the needs of today’s riders, commuters, and racers. However, some things have also stayed the same, like their passion for cycling and their commitment to providing the cycling community with high-performance, reliable and durable components, ranging from tyres to grips, rims, apparel, seats for bikes and more.

Furthermore, WTB have been one of the greatest advocates for bike use ever since they have been founded. They genuinely care and are constantly paving the way for bikes as a replacement for commuting, as they don’t cause congestion, don’t burn fossil fuels, don’t produce smog, and so on. They constantly open tunnels, send decisive transportation executive on bike tours in the Netherlands, and fight for making the world a better place for riding bikes overall.

WTB is also heavily involved in professional biking, and some of the athletes that represent and use their products include Mark Weir, Marco Osborne, Lauren Gregg, Brett Bellchambers, Amy Morrison, Nathan Riddle, Jay Petervary, Dan Wolfe, Anita Gehrig and many more.

Products

WTB stocks a large range of products, including seats for bikes, tyres, grips, rims, apparel, and accessories. Their saddles are especially popular among riders, due to the advanced technologies used to manufacture them. Here are some models and the technologies they incorporate.

WTB High Tail
Initially designed to accommodate longer travel bikes that had tyres which would otherwise buzz saddles to bits, the High tail saddle is svelte and light enough to fit all types of bikes. It provides 1.5cm of tyre clearance over generic saddle shapes, making it ideal for long travel of enduro and downhill bikes. Further, it features thin padding and vacuum formed edges.

WTB Volt
The WTB Volt is one of the most popular mountain bike saddles. Specifically shaped for comfort and speed, the Volt is time tested and proven and makes for one of the most versatile saddles that have gained critical acclaim among many riders. It features medium padding thickness, subtle curves and an upward curved tail with a gentle drop to the nose which provides riders with something to push against when pedaling.

WTB Pure
An outstanding distance and all-mountain saddle, Pure sports has a drop nose design that prevents hang-ups while providing enough padding for all-day comfort. It’s an ideal saddle for almost any rider, especially for bikepackers. It also features a distinctive, rising whale-tail shape which is just one of the many features that make it great for bikepackers and all-mountain riders alike.
